History: The only child of Tom and Samantha Rydell, Alex was encouraged to make the most of his place in life. An average student, Alex had a mostly normal childhood, being happy and making as many friends as he could. This all ended with the first signs of his emerging mutant abilities, when stray thoughts would cause pencils to fly out of his hand and other unusual behavior. With the first messages from Apocalypse and the more common knowledge of the existence of mutants, Alex was made an outcast almost overnight. This sudden abandonment by his friends darkened Alex's attitude towards life, giving him a twisted and altogether biased view towards "normals." This view is what lead him to joining Erik Lensherr's school, in hopes of bringing about change in the world.
Personality: Average is something that would pretty much describe Alex. A product of the 80s, it takes much to phase his generally cheerful attitude, except when mention is made of his status as a mutant. A bit of an optimist, Alex works towards a brighter future, even in such troubling times. He also attempts to be polite when possible, although this has become more essential since joining the school and around Erik especially, whom he has a secret fear of.
