Codename: Nightcrawler
Real Name: Kurt Wagner

Age: 19
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 175 lbs
Eyes: Yellow, no visible pupils
Hair: Indigo
Distinguishing Features: Kurt is covered in a layer of short, dark blue fur; his hair only a few shades darker. Despite his weight, he is thin and well-built. Ears are pointed, as well as his canine teeth, and his eyes are a solid shade of yellow. Kurt's hands and feet are larger than a normal human, his hands sporting two long fingers and a thumb, each foot having only two long toes. Finally, he possesses a three-and-a-half foot-long tail, which ends in an arrow-shaped tip.
Known Relatives: Raven Darkholme (AKA Mystique, Mother, although he is unaware of the fact)

Powers:  Upon first appearances, Kurt's demonic visage is the clearest indicator of his mutant status. Aside from this, he possesses superhuman agility and a very flexible spine. His tail is prehensile, but can only hold his full weight for a few moments without pain.  Kurt's most impressive ability, however, is that of teleportation. This 'teleportation' is actually a form of dimension-hopping, in which he briefly enters the Darkforce dimension and then appears in the desired place. When teleporting, he leaves behind smoke and a smell of brimstone, and a 'BAMF' sound made by air rushing into the space where he formerly stood.  He can teleport to any distance within a mile's radius (roughly) that he has seen before. He has an extrasensory ability that prevents him from teleporting into solid objects, as long as he's teleporting into such an area. Teleporting into an area he has not seen is dangerous, and he rarely ever does so. As of yet, he can only teleport himself and his clothing, and he cannot teleport instantaneously.  He possesses a few other, minor powers. Whether because of his dark fur or the effects of Darkforce, Kurt can easily blend into the shadows around him and become nearly unseen to the naked eye. An ability that may be related to this is that he can easily see in the dark. Secondly, he also has a limited ability to stick to walls - that is to say, while he can easily crawl up a wall, he is also easily knocked off of it.

Skills/Talents:  Kurt can speak both English and German, though his English is still a bit imperfect, and is commonly peppered with German words and expressions. Trained from an early age in the art of the trapeze, his natural agility is supplemented by acrobatic skill. Mystique has also taught him how to properly wield a gun, and he is an average marksman with one.

History:  Kurt's story truly starts with the story of what happened to his mother. In the year 1969, the woman known as Mystique was in Germany, posing as a German baron's wife. She became pregnant with (purportedly) the baron's child, but when the child was born, the local townsfolk were horrified of the babe's appearance. Mystique was chased by an angry mob while carrying her child in her arms, and weakened from giving birth, she had no choice but to throw the child over a waterfall and leave him for dead.
The child, however, survived. He was found on a riverside by Margali Szardos, a gypsy sorceress who worked as a fortune-teller for a traveling circus. From then on he was raised by both Margali and the others who worked in the circus, and came to think of them as family. He was especially close to Jemain and Stefan, Margali's two children. When young Kurt began asking about his real parents, he was told that Margali had found him in a cabin, his father and mother both dead. He believed the tale, not thinking that Margali might ever lie to him.
He was trained to be a trapeze artist, but only performed a few times in front of an audience before Mystique appeared in his life once more. One night after a performance, the ten-year-old Kurt was confronted by Mystique, who was wearing Margali's form. She then proceeded to criticize his performance severely, going to the point of actually hitting him. Kurt was confused and hurt - Margali had never done anything like this to him before, and he knew that he had done well! - and getting hit made him even more upset. His teleportation power manifested for the first time, leaving him outside of his tent, and he fled without even stopping to think of how he had managed to escape.
He ran, eventually ending up a good distance from the tents, where he collapsed into a crying ball of fluff. Mystique found him a short time later, now in her normal form, and began to comfort him. Kurt eventually calmed down, regarding the stranger with wonder, and he agreed to go with her when she said she would take him away from the circus.
They left with haste, going to Austria and then traveling through many of the European countries for over eight years. During this time, Mystique trained him in the use of his powers, and taught him how to use a gun. He was not at all happy about being enrolled in the Wundagore school, but he knew better than to argue overmuch about it, and accepted his fate stoically.

Personality:  Kurt's outlook on life used to be generally happy, but since being rejected by 'Margali' and abducted by Mystique, he has become much more serious. He is a bit bitter about his lot in life, and tends to try to avoid people, though in time he will generally warm up to those who persist in trying to make friends. The one thing that bothers him the most, though, is seeing innocents suffer.  Mystique has been like a second foster mother to him, if one who specializes in tough love. He trusts her as much as he used to trust Margali, and rarely ever questions her. However, now that he is older and can look back on events, he has a shadow of a doubt about what truly happened.
